Explaining a Problem

Hi there, I just want to explain why I didn't come in to work today. Yesterday just as I was finishing up some errands at the end of the day I was hit by another car while stopped at a red light. He must have been going about 40 miles per hour because my car is totaled. I am in the hospital right now because of my neck. They tell me that I have severe whiplash and need a month to recover. I know that I will get sick pay while I'm in the hospital and that we have insurance that will cover both my hospital bills and the company car. The person that hit me isn't in the country legally and he doesn't have insurance or a driver's license. But actually, that's not what I'm most worried about. The accident report will show that I was just outside my housing complex at a red light. I just needed to stop by to pick up my company credit card in order to buy the office supplies that I was tasked with picking up. I'm not sure what to say when I have to speak to the insurance representative today. What if they deem that I was on a personal errand and the company insurance won't cover it? The guy who hit me doesn't have insurance and so I can't pay for the damage that way and my insurance has a three thousand dollar deductable. I can't afford this right now. If I have to use my medical insurance to cover my hospital bills, my premiums will skyrocket and I won't be able to afford my insurance anymore. I am hoping that it depends on my boss's say regarding whether I was officially on a company errand and not a personal one. Surely he will understand that I needed to get my company credit card to make the purchases he asked me to make. I am just worried sick about this. Please tell my boss to contact St. Mary's Hospital so I can speak with him. Thanks.
